When Beck wanted to upgrade their in-cab connectivity hardware they turned to Premier to design a power cabling solution.
Premier had provided the original in-vehicle connectivity solution that included a wireless tracking modem. This solution had a single function and that was to provide location services to dispatchers. What Beck was looking for in their upgrade was a solution that allowed location services but also provided additional driver information. An Android powered tablet connected to the vehicle’s power source was the solution. The challenge was to power the tablet without creating low voltage conditions (brown outs). Premier was able to design a custom cable and deliver thousands of cables within weeks.
