When a national identification agency required a way to track the movement of material over its manufacturing cycle it turned to Premier to design a tracking system.
Because the assets were both mobile and clustered in different parts of the country, the challenge was to design a system that can be both remotely managed from one central office and not rely on local area networks for data connectivity. The solution was to architect a wireless WAN over a 4G cellular network. Premier was able to architect a system solution that would allow RFID scanners to connect to a wireless network and transmit asset related information to a data center. This has allowed a national identification agency to locate and identify mobile assets in an almost real time situation without relying on local networks or local operators to transmit data. The system solution is now being considered for full scale deployment of 10,000 end nodes.
